How does AI Buddy work?

AI Buddy analyzes your complete fitness data - every workout, every meal, every progress measurement. It uses OpenAI technology to provide personalized recommendations, spot patterns in your behavior, and guide you toward your goals. Think of it as having a personal trainer and nutritionist who never sleeps.

Can Tallawa recognize my cultural foods?

Yes! Tallawa supports foods from Jamaica, Uganda, China, and cuisines worldwide. We use a three-tier system: our custom database of cultural foods, Open Food Facts (2.5M+ products), and AI estimation for dishes not in any database. Whether it's ackee, matoke, or dim sum - we've got you covered.

How does progressive overload tracking work?

When you create a workout routine, Tallawa saves it as a template. Each time you complete that workout, your actual performance (reps, sets, weight) updates the template. Next time you do that workout, it shows your latest numbers - making progressive overload automatic. No spreadsheets needed.

Is there a free trial?

Yes! We offer a 7-day free trial with full access to all features. No credit card required to start. After the trial, you can subscribe to continue using Tallawa.

What platforms is Tallawa available on?

Tallawa is available on iOS and Android. Built with React Native and Expo, it works seamlessly on both platforms with full feature parity.

How is my data protected?

Your data is stored securely in Supabase with encryption at rest and in transit. We use Row Level Security (RLS) to ensure users can only access their own data. We never sell your personal information to third parties. Read our full Privacy Policy for details.

How do I delete my account and data?

You have full control over your data. To delete your account and all associated data:

  1. Open the Tallawa app on your device
  2. Go to Profile (tap your profile icon)
  3. Scroll down and tap Account Settings
  4. Tap Delete Account
  5. Confirm deletion

Warning: This action is permanent and irreversible. All your data including workouts, nutrition logs, progress photos, and AI conversation history will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

Can I export my data?

Yes! You can request a complete export of your data at any time. Contact us at privacy@tallawa.com with the subject line "Data Export Request" and we'll provide your data in a portable format (JSON) within 7 business days. This includes all workouts, nutrition logs, progress measurements, and AI conversations.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through your app store account:

For iOS (Apple App Store):

Open Settings → Your Name → Subscriptions → Tallawa → Cancel Subscription

For Android (Google Play Store):

Open Google Play Store → Menu → Subscriptions → Tallawa → Cancel Subscription

You'll retain access until the end of your current billing period. No refunds for partial periods.

What is your refund policy?

We offer a 7-day free trial so you can fully test Tallawa before paying. Refunds are handled through Apple App Store or Google Play Store according to their policies. Generally, you can request a refund within 48 hours of purchase. Contact support@tallawa.com if you have issues, and we'll help facilitate the refund process with the app stores.

Does Tallawa work offline?

Yes! You can log workouts, track nutrition, and view your data offline. Your changes will automatically sync to the cloud when you reconnect to the internet. However, AI Buddy features require an internet connection to provide personalized insights.

Can I use Tallawa on multiple devices?

Yes! Your account syncs across all devices where you're logged in. Track a workout on your phone, check progress on your tablet - everything stays in sync. Just sign in with the same email address on each device.
